'REVEALED: Youth culture, pop culture, subculture - The Photographs of Francesco Mellina 1977-1982' Book / F Mellina

The Clash, The Ramones, Echo and The Bunnymen, Talking Heads, Orange Juice, The Ramones, Talking Heads, The Slits, A Certain Ratio, The Human League, Dead or Alive, Wah! Heat, Killing Joke, Siouxsie and The Banshees, Elvis Costello, Kraftwerk, The Cramps and more. All photographed before they were famous, so to speak.

Francesco Mellina's book of stylish and evocative black and white photographs contains part of his collection of photographs taken in the clubs and music venues around England’s Northwest between 1977 and 1982. As manager of emerging new wave band Dead or Alive, Francesco was a regular on Liverpool’s music scene, and was always in the right place at the right time. The photographs were being by the national music press such as the NME or The Face to illustrate articles about new music from Liverpool and the Northwest. They were shot on 36mm black and white film and were stored away until Francesco was asked to supply them for use in a major exhibition, entitled Sound and Vision: Music and Fashion, at Liverpool's Conservation Centre in 2009. The show was a huge success, attracting a record number of visitors.
